“Faith in our self has to work 24 hours a day!”

-Adapted from AA quote_

One important way to continue your success is to do things that will solidify your decision not to smoke. It is time to get rid of smoking gear!

  • Throw out lighters, ashtrays, cigarette cases, cigarettes, etc.
  • Review your list of reasons to quit.
  • Schedule an appointment to have your teeth cleaned.
  • You can say “I am a non-smoker.”
  • Use your cigarette money to buy yourself a funny card today.
You may feel dizzy or nauseated, focus on taking care of yourself. Take aspirin, go for a walk, or relax in a hot bath.

The more you reward yourself and renew your commitment each day, the more likely it will be that a year from now you’ll still be able to call yourself an ex-smoker.

Science Daily reported March 11 that the majority (71 percent) of women surveyed overestimated — by an average of one-and-a-half drinks — the number of alcohol beverages men wanted their female friends, dates, or girlfriends to drink.
